Resumo: This research presents the process of creating a digital platform using an open source aiming to create a space that would make possible having a greater technological autonomy for the virtual creative coding community. It was assumed that the ability artist-programmers have to create their own creative tools could also be useful to develop their own digital platforms. The action-research was used as a guiding method, where nine participants discussed for six months strategies to promote the development of creative coding in Brazil, creating tools that would facilitate the connection among people, the dissemination and the content organization, plus the autonomy to add new functionalities to the platform. Throughout the process, interviews were held as well as online questionnaires, prototyping, WebAnalytics and customer satisfaction surveys. As a result, the site <www.encontrosdigitais.com.br> was launched on 03/29/2020, a space for learning art and technology. The platform gained the immediate support from hundreds of people, and by the final months of the research, a greater movement could be observed in the virtual community in activities in which the platform was related to. The success of the platform depends on power obstacles and change of habits. Data privacy, social and creative freedoms, critical view of algorithms, interfaces and platforms were some of the topics discussed throughout the research.
