Resumo: | The aim of this master‟s thesis was to investigate the dynamics of the utilitarian and substantive rationalities, as financial and organizational advisors on the management of AIMCA - Associação das Irmãs Missionárias Capuchinhas, of which was realized through the administration of private schools. In that sense, the AIMCA search‟s to guide their action according to the spirituality and teachings of the Catholic Apostolic Roman Church. Therefore, AIMCA presents an organizational stance rooted in the substantive rationality, in which the social values overcome the financial profit. However, in practice there is a confrontation between the utilitarian and substantive rationality facing the appeal of capitalism profitability. To investigate this dynamics, the present study was performed as an exploratory search based on a qualitative methodology, in a temporal perspective, with one level of organizational analysis and one semi structured interview, besides texts and images produced by the association linked to the study. The data analysis allowed us to assert, by the identification of the values of utilitarian and substantive rationality, that there is a predominance of a strong utilitarian characteristic, once there is an oriented complicity to the global marketing rules of a capitalistic society. |
