Summary: | Aiming to contribute with the mainstream reflections about the Teaching of the Indigenous Thematic’s History, this assignment investigated the use of Cinema as a source to the study of History, with the purpose of perceiving the former as educational material for teaching. Thus, this body of work provides a historical overview of the relations between Cinema, History, and Teaching, identifying contexts and changes in the incorporation of movies in the classroom. The fundamental proposal was to reflect on the possibilities of the Indigenous Thematic’s Cinema adoption in the classroom. Furthermore, the analysis deepened on the examination of cinematographic productions that produce representations of the indigenous population of Brazil and movies made by indigenous filmmakers. Concerning the methodology, this book built on a didactic synopsis and applied teaching sequences, from the selection and analysis of national films that portrait of Indigenous’s figures from the 1970s. |
