A certidão de nascimento de Aveiro traz madrinha, sal e água. E, como bem sabemos, foi da ria que lhe veio a sua riqueza milenar: o sal. Por isso, o trabalho realizado neste projecto de Mestrado em Tradução Especializada teve como base essencial, o sal. Sendo o sal marinho, rico em sais minerais, que, para ser provado, tem, antes, de ser retirado com arte e engenho do mar, um projecto de tradução e legendagem de um filme/documentário denominado “Una carta desde un salinar abandonado", que elege como tema central a revalorização do sal tradicional, surge, de imediato, como um trabalho bastante interessante. O Relatório que aqui se apresenta explana o percurso levado a cabo para a realização do projecto realizado durante o 2º semestre do ano lectivo 2008/2009, no âmbito do Mestrado em Línguas e Tradução Especializada, descrevendo e analisando todas as especificidades inerentes a este tipo de trabalho. Nele se procede ao enquadramento do trabalho, à teoria sobre o sal e as salinas, à teoria e prática de legendagem, à descrição do trabalho em si (os documentos traduzidos, as suas características, as dificuldades e problemas encontrados durante da tradução e as soluções propostas para os mesmos) e, por último, a uma reflexão crítica sobre a massa de trabalho realizado e às conclusões a que chegámos. Trata-se, pois, de uma abordagem crítica de todo o projecto, desde os seus primórdios até à sua conclusão. ABSTRACT: Aveiro’s birth created a solid bond between the city, salt and water. And, as we know, it was from the ria that came its main richness: salt. That’s why all the work done for this project of Master’s in Specialized Translation had this topic as primary base. Being a translation and subtitling project of a documentary film called “Una carta desde un salinar abandonado”, which one elects tradtional salt’s revaluation as main topic, the sea salt, substance rich in mineral salts, that must be extracted from the sea with all kinds of cares, before being tasted, immediately became an interesting theme to work on. This Report explains all the phases that were passed by during the 2nd semester of the 2008/2009 school year to make this project of Master’s in Specialized Translation, describing and analysing all the details relative to this kind of work. The whole project has as main function the justification of the work, that’s why it includes: some theory about salt and salina, statements about theory and practice of subtitling, a description of the work itself (the documents that were translated and some details about them, the difficulties and problems that showed up during the translation and the solutions proposed to solve them) and, finally, a critic reflection about the work done and all the conclusions we have come to. As we can see, this Report is a critic approach to the whole project, from its beginning to its end.
