Resumo: The present work aims to support students of Elementary and Middle School with concepts of Financial Mathematics that lead to an understanding of the mechanisms involved in the most varied financial transactions and also contribute to the training of teachers of these cycles. In the course of the text, the basic concepts necessary for the understanding of Financial Mathematics, such as Arithmetic and Geometric Progressions, Simple and Compound Interest, Operations with Interest Rates, Uniform Series, Amortization System, as well as Economics and Economics Domestic. The present work also presents a workshop carried out with students from Elementary and Middle School, in which it was possible to verify the students’ discrepancy regarding mathematical concepts and ignorance of certain subjects of the domestic economy. However, it was verified that with content mastery and due contextualization on the part of the teacher, the students had an effective appropriation of the content and understood the importance of a good planning of the family expenses.
