Resumo: This work aims to evaluate technically and economically the energy use concerning poultry litter. Initially, the state of the art was verified for energy use and then we developed a case study in a poultry broiler FARM located in the Southwest of Paraná. In this study, the energy consumption of the poultry farm was analyzed from the analysis of data collected in the poultry farm, data provided by the integrator company and data validated by other researchers. We also analyzed the systems used for energy use regarding the poultry litter through the process of anaerobic digestion to support the thermal and electrical requirements of the poultry farm. In this regard, we considered in the analysis all variables and procedures that are directly related to the technical and economic data systems used to processing the poultry litter in order to turn the system successful, and this fact is one of the differences of this work compared to other ones. In the economic analysis multi-index was used to represent the results of the profitability (NPV ANPV, IBC and ROIA) and the risks (IRR and discounted Payback) of the investment. It was also considered in the analysis, the facility depreciation, taxation (IR) and initial equity capital investments or others through the Low Carbon Agriculture program (LCA). Four configurations for energy use in the poultry litter were adopted for the economic analysis. It was observed that during the analysis, the first and second configuration proved uneconomical due to the cost without capital be greater than revenues. For this situation, scenarios were created to identify how far off their feasibility was. The third and fourth configurations proved to be viable. It was concluded that the various alternatives for energy use from the poultry litter influence the cost of deploying the systems since they interfere directly in the design of equipment and facilities. We also know that currently there is a profitable application of poultry litter contributing to the economic infeasibility of energy use from the poultry litter.
