Qualitative data were categorized and compared to literature according to Bardin's content analysis. It was found that the groups presented positive questions for a quality ageing in the municipality and have health satisfaction. A majority does not use medication and low schooling and financial condition, seems to have no negative influence in their lives. In relation to the occupational activities the GNP, deserves attention, through active search of older people with intent to participate in groups of coexistence and other services that can be offered to the elderly. The data indicated that the elderly participating in the coexistence groups presented a better quality of life compared to the group of non-participating seniors. We find better functional capacity, housing, safety and physical environment, as well as social support and sexual activity pointed out by the result of WHOQOL-Bref. As for the psychological dominance, it presented a lower average than those found in other areas. It is concluded that the activities offered by NASF through the coexistence groups are of extreme relevance to the maintenance of the quality of life of the elderly, so the health professionals should be aware of the strengthening of the actions, exploring and innovating concepts on the Age. |
