Resumo: This study aims to understand the interaction of the general student of a private college of nursing in São Paulo, with illicit drugs or illicit in their daily lives, and to identify drugs with which they are involved, the history involvement and to identify the contradictions between being a future health professional living with drugs. The research is qualitative, which Minayo (2002) has to consider the subject of study: people in a particular social condition, belonging to a particular social group or class, with their beliefs, values and meanings. Was used as a research tool semi-structured interview, with the following questions: How to get involved with drugs? As the nursing program has contributed. How do you deal with the contradictions of being a professional health care and being a drug user? Interviews were chosen by the individual rather than researched, recorded, transcribed and analyzed by contente analysis of Bardin that after an initial reading of the speeches showed the following categories: Routine University; Socializing with friends / Acceptance Group, Alcohol as a factor influencing; Reason x Desire; Media; School as a factor in pro-active decision to use drugs. Considering that in its evolution, the human being goes through an initial phase, in which the environment controls all his actions, we consider the aspect of the student environment, raising questions where the students can more easily, access to drugs. Identifying access and associated with academic performance, we can help in an educational proposal, the inherent dynamics curriculum and updated by checking the possibility of a democratic educational practice, where the student is the reason college and actively participates in the teaching - learning the result may be a behavior change towards life, personal problems, college and social, helping the students to overcome their limitations and see the world with its problems, with lucidity and freedom.
