Resumo: This dissertation emphasizes on searching for improvements in the quality of formation of physical education professionals. It aims at correcting former problems of a diminishing course that stagnates the advancement of physical education, injuring several generations and the quality of life of people as a whole. The presentation exposes the problem, the complexity of the subject, and the objectives to be achieved, including challenges and references of methodical approaches and practices for the development of this type of work. The second chapter: One human being as a whole in the practice of physical education as a curricular component, focuses on the starting point for this type of research. It leans mainly towards the objectives proposed, through surveying and comparative analysis of curriculums of the physical education course of four colleges, along with branching out and commenting on the analysis of the common disciplines. Interviews with thirty physical education professors were described and analyzed with fidelity in this chapter. A distribution table separated by age groups analyzed and compared the content of the answers by showing irrelativeness in the responses given. The final considerations given in the third chapter of this dissertation embodied all three chapters, including its objectives and goals, and presenting the result of the analyses, confrontations, and aspirations pursued, along with some suggestions. This dissertation leaves a perspective of work and incentive to continue researching, in order to come up with a resolution for an ongoing problem - improving the quality of education at formation schools for physical education professionals, who have the required conditions and a mission to improve the overall quality of life in this country.
