Resumo: Interventions for promoting physical activity in schools have shown relevant results for reducing the high rates of physical inactivity . In this sense the Study Group on Epidemiology of Physical Activity GEEAF - school with the 5th Regional Coordination of Education (5th CRE ) developed the project Physical Education + : Practicing Health in school . This project has the aim assist PE teachers to work in the health theme school and disseminate knowledge about practices and their relation to bodily health . The main strategies of intervention are: training workshop for teachers ; delivery of educational material to teachers ; delivery illustrative posters and a scientific event to facilitate the exchange of experience among teachers . Thus the aim of this project is to analyze the implementation of the intervention project " Physical Education + " to be developed in physical education classes in high school in the public schools of the city of Pelotas . For it will be drawn 10 high schools from public Pelotas five from the control group and the other five of the group will receive the intervention of " Physical Education + " . Will be given a questionnaire to assess the level of physical activity ( ≥ 300min/sem ) and knowledge (score on a test ) at the beginning and end of the intervention on students from 10 schools. A subsample of students participate in a focus group to assess satisfaction with the intervention . Teachers will be interviewed by telephone and through a personal interview to verify adherence to the project . After analyzes will be performed for comparisons within ( pre and post ) and intergroup (two dishes ) the level of physical activity and knowledge of students . The associations will be explored second stratification by the independent variables
