This paper aims to reconstruct the history of the largest block of carnival in Brazil, the Club of Masks The Galo da Madrugada, through the records of the main events surrounding the carnival guild since its founding in Recife in 1978 until the year 2012. Two other important aspects were at work: the analysis of the Galo da Madrugada functioning as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Pernambuco, from the publication of the State Law 13.712 / 2009. And also the structure of Public Security set up by the State of Pernambuco, to block the parade, carnival to occur today.
