Resumo: Solid wastes constitute a major challenge currently, because their treatment and impropriate final disposal have brought serious consequences on health as environment. And as it comes to waste food, this situation is aggravated by the fact that thousands of people worldwide going through famine while thousands of tons of food are meant to landfills or even dumps. This study aimed at evaluating the management of solid waste and the level of participation and interest of all stakeholders of the Center for Supply and Logistics of Pernambuco (CEASA/PE) in order to meet the legal requirements of the National Politics for Solid Waste (PNRS) and the National Politics for Environmental Education (PNEA). The CEASA/PE is the largest supply center of the North/Northeast in sales volume, selling monthly about 70.000t.This is a wholesaler and retailer terminal of horticultural products, cereals and stowage, meats, fish, and ornamental flowers and organic products, generating a monthly average total of 900t solid waste, out of which 80% is organic waste. Through desk and field research; it was found the perception of various stakeholders regarding the housekeeping in the marketing environment. Results revealed merchants and customersas responsible for the two groups, which responsible for this mess are traders and the proper establishment administration that does not inspect the cleanliness and the attitudes of merchants and customers during marketing. It was noticed also that cleaning is the last point that customers look for when buying. It was noted by traders who end up not felling motivated to change the habits of cleanliness and hygiene and or attending the lecture on environmental issues, as well as customers. It is believed that if CEASA/PE develop effective actions that reach these two groups, achieving environmental change habits in order to reduce the generation of solid waste and moreover able to deploy the selective collection, giving a correct destination for each type of waste according to their classification, it will provide increased shelf life of the landfill and most importantly cleaning up the largest Center of Supply and Logistics in the North/Northeast
