Resumo: |
The coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) belongs to the Apiaceae family, being a vegetable condimentary, with a short vegetative cycle, providing to the producer with a quick return of invested capital. However, the occurrence of phytonematoids in the cultivation area compromises the production of the crop, thus, a great device to be adopted by the producers is the use of resistant cultivars. For this it is necessary the development of improvement programs aiming resistance to the nematode, but for the coriander culture its still scarce. Thus, the objective of the present task was to evaluate the efficiency of phenotypic recurrent selection in the segregation of coriander populations aiming the resistance to Meloidogyne incognita race 1. The experiments were conducted in the greenhouse and vegetable garden, located in the Agronomy Department of Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. Initially experiments were carried out utilizing three criteria of selection to the recurrent phenotypic selection method with two cycles of selection, each criterion had a selection form. Subsequently, two experiments were conducted using representatives of the two cycles of each of the criterion in order to observe the recurrent phenotypic selection tool. The coriander population was evaluated for the reaction to the nematode M. incognita at a concentration of 2000 eggs.cell-1. As a result to, the improved populations it was possible to observe an increase of the number of plants with grades below 2. However, in the comparative experiments, statistically the did not differ each other, therefore is impossible to indicate with only two cycles of selection, which criteria was more efficient. |
