Resumo: |
The aim of this work was to analyze the mobilization of the teaching knowledges related to the Science Technology and Society approach (STS) in the process of formation of chemistry teachers in the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE), since we understand the process as being utterly important for a teacher, because it is in university that the teaching knowledges are built to be mobilized in a teacher’s professional carreer. We still see nowadays a reasonable number of works focused on showing the problems related to teachers formation courses. However, we can see a movement on the authorities side to change the reality of brazilian education. In the same direction, we suggest the STS approach, which was incorporated to education in the 1990’s, but whose implementation in the school curricula is still a challenge. As for this research, the idea of it ocurred during the Instrumentação para o Ensino de Química II (Instrumentation for theteaching of chemistry II) course, which is offered in the fourth year of the Full Licentiate ship in Chemistry course of UFRPE. 11 university students particiated in this research. As for the methodology, we did a Field research throughout the 2016.1 semester. To collect the data, we used questionnaire, videography, Field diary and focus group. These instruments contributed to the occurencies and to the recording os the data related to the STS approach. We could see that, in the analyzed episodes, the graduating teachers oscilated greatly when it came to STS approach knowledge, sometimes acting accordingly to the literature, describing the interactions between science, technology and society; sometimes completely forgetting them. Another relevant aspect of this work was the difficulties pointed by the graduating teachers in applying STS approach to their teaching practises. According to them, STS approach is valid, but demands much time to prepare classes, since it is very hard to be applied. Another difficulty pointed out by the graduating teachers is the willinglessness of already graduated teachers and of schools in general to use STS approach. |
