Resumo: The Irrigated Perimeter of Moxotó - Pimox in the city of Ibimirim / PE, brazilian semiarid region, produces various types of irrigated crops. Studies of climate change predict many changes in all regions of the planet. Among the most affected areas of the world are the semi-arid regions. In northeastern Brazil, the continuing drought will mean drier. This study aimed to carry out a critical analysis of water and food security strategies addressing climate change in the local productive arrangement of irrigated fruit in the Hinterland of Moxotó. With the worsening drought and consequent drought, ending at critical levels the amount of water stored in the reservoir of the Cross Shaft, family farming, characteristic of Pimox, suffered reduction in the variety of crops and threatens the continuity of crops. Water saving technologies currently used in the region are the mechanisms cisterns for irrigation. The urgent need for public policies that ensure access to water security, food and nutrition of farmers in the region is necessary so that irrigators can continue the work done in Pimox, strengthening the local economy.
