Resumo: |
On the coast of Pernambuco, the shrimp trawl fishery occurs in estuaries, hollows and water near the coast. The most commonly used gear are based on simple traditional techniques such as beach seining, more recreational character (almost exclusively on the north coast) and shrimp trawling. Despite the economic and ecological importance, little is known about the fishing on the coast of this state. There are about 50 vessels operated with trawling in Pernambuco, where about 100 fishermen are divided into five communities (Recife, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Barra de Sirinhaém, Tamandaré e São José da Coroa Grande) all located on the southern coast. The most active fishing effort on this feature, is concentrated in Barra de Sirinhaém. Until now, probably because of lack of local knowledge about the activity, it was not possible to observe more effective measures in order to protect the marine shrimp on the coast of Pernambuco, as was done for the rest of the region among Alagoas and Bahia (IN 14 de 2004, MMA). Taking into account the scarcity of studies on "shrimp trawling in Pernambuco," this manuscript is justified by the need to characterize the shrimp trawling on the coast of this state, where Barra de Sirinhaém has been identified as the main fishing warehouse that resources, characterize the used boats, fishing equipment, the production of this resource for the community and time of year and the impact on bycatch. To date we have not identified any measures to reduce the ecological impact of fishing with the use of bycatch reduce devices (BRD), which justifies the use of three BRD, during work with the order to quantify and qualify the bycatch, and present measures to mitigate the impact of this activity on the fish community of the region. An analysis was made of the economic cost of trawling activity in Pernambuco, thus paving the way for measures that can guide the activity. |
