Resumo: The aim of this study was to investigate how three chemistry teachers from public High School in Pernambuco understand, use and evaluate the Educandus Educational Software as a teaching tool in classroom. For that the Educandus software was analyzed and classified using criteria established by the literature; a survey on teachers' conceptions about educational software was carried out; how these teachers use this teaching tool in classroom and how they evaluate this software were observed. Data were collected from semi-structured interviews, questionnaire, non-participant observation and videography. Results suggest that Educandus Software is a good resource for educational purposes, but it involves a behavioral approach to teaching, fitting in an Instructional Paradigm. Teachers have a vision of educational software as an audiovisual resource; they evaluate the Educandus Software as good and use it in classroom by teaching approaches related to instructive and revealing paradigms.
