With an exploratory nature, this work had as objective verify relations possible between the HDI (longevity, education and income) with the effective of the herd, milk production and productivity of the state of Pernambuco constituting, thus, the database, used here, for the years 1980, 1991 and 2000, obtained from the site of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), by Automatic System Recovery IBGE (SIDRA). Analyses of multivariate techniques such as multiple correlation, factorial, cluster and discriminant, resulting in a significant relationship between the rural population active and full with the behavior of milk productivity and the HDI of longevity, education and income in the state of Pernambuco.
