Workplace accidents are complex phenomena and a major public health problem around the world. The work carried out in the health institutions involves the use of the most varied types of sharps and contact with contaminated biological fluids, implying risks to the professionals involved. Coping is the individual attempt to adapt to circumstances considered stressful. Their identification in the professional environment favors a change, making the work environment more productive and less exhausting. In this context, the scientific production originated in this dissertation aims to analyze the Coping strategies used by health professionals who are injured by biological material. The study adopts a descriptive and qualitative methodology, with results treated through the content analysis of Bardin from three previous categories of analysis: control, avoidance and management. The information was obtained through semi-structured interviews with ten health professionals, hospital workers, in the city of Passo Fundo (RS). The results indicate a greater use of control strategies by the professionals surveyed. |
