Resumo: Normally the Organization search for implant an Occupational Health and Safety Management System looking for to reduce the amount and the costs of the work accidents and occupational diseases, to be more rigorous to carry out the OH&S Legislation and to improve the conditions in the work Environment. But associated with these issues there is also the search for the competitivity and the permanence in the market, that means change in how to manager the organization, demanding as well projects to promote the sustainable development, as an alternative to have a social life with more quality. In this way, this case study aim to show the corporative strategies to implant an OH&S Management System based on OHSAS18001, using their own resources, considering the successful strategies used to implant the Environment Management System and the Quality Management system in the plant.Considering that the Plant was passing for a period of adaptation of the production to the market demand and the period of time analyzed was only one year, it was not possible to have a better idea of the OH&S Management System performance. But the actions for the OH&S were planned taking in consideration the hazards and risks identification process, the OH&S legislation, the technical and financial capacity, the historical data of work accidents and occupational diseases and the qualification and competence of the workers. So, there is a positive expectation related to the improvement of the OH&S Management System Performance. And, for the other hand, we can emphasize the organization learning as one of the main results of the project to implant the OH&S Management System.
