Resumo: There are many challenges to work with sexuality in special education institutions. The difficulty seems to exist mostly because of the social prejudice, as people with disabilities are seen as asexual, or as hipersexualized sometimes. This paper reports the experience of sexuality workshops held in a special education institution (APAE), for students with intellectual disability, aged between fourteen and twenty-six years old.. Seven workshops were held, lasting couple hours each, focusing in a playful way, concepts such as sexuality, prejudices, reproductive systems, birth control, among others. In this endeavor was noticed we can overcome this barrier, explaining the natural way to treat sexuality, taking caution to work the issues without judgment, so from the given information, the participating students create their own ideas and views on the various topics discussed. The teenagers showed interest participating in the activities and clarifying their doubts, curiosities, desires, and, at several times, they proved to be sensitized on the discussions. An implicit prejudice was observed: the view of women as objects; and the lack of basic knowledge about their own bodies and development. Projects addressing issues of sexuality are able to create quality of life, and knowledge necessary to a full experience for adolescents with disability or not
