Resumo: The crisis, caused by the neoliberal socioeconomic policies that were hegemonic in much of Latin America during the 1990s and 2000s, bankrupted many companies that could not compete under the proposed policies, promoting mass unemployment and degradation of work conditions. In response to this economic climate, groups of workers sought to create a more dignified workplace through the democratization of labor relations: the recovery of the bankruptcy of the companies they worked under workers' control. This phenomenon, which despite not having great representation in volume, is a major struggle for self-management movement in the productive microcosm and suggest new form of social relation within the capitalist system that is able to survive market rules and still promote critical debate of the production mode. In this sense, this research presents a conceptualization and a contextualization of self-management as a struggle within the capitalist system, to understand, through data collection, what it indicate in terms of collective means of production property rights, the socialization of power to workers, its relationship with others social movements and the actualization for the reduction of socioeconomic inequalities within worker's communities
