Resumo: | The results of this thesis were obtained from the systematization of the work carried out in the upper Paraná River basin added to the geomorphological and structural mapping of the area under study and application of some morphometric, outlined in longitudinal profile studies and application Hack Index listing some courses the upper Paraná River, in order to understand the geomorphological evolution of this fluvial system, the stretch without dam. The alluvial valley of the upper Paraná River was compartmentalized into six geomorphic units: Porto Rico, Taquaruçu, Fazenda Boa Vista, Paraná River. Guaira and Campo Mourão Plateau. The Porto Rico Unit corresponding areas of colluvial deposits associated with the weathering of Caiuá Formation. The Taquaruçu Unit characterized by having small ponds with diameters ranging from hundreds to thousands meters diameters, predominantly sandy material, with moderate amount of dispersed clay and a level of gravel, which develops at its base. The ponds developed on this unit seem to be controlled associated tectonic processes resulting from illuviation/eluviation. The Fazenda Boa Vista Unit which is an alluvial terrace excavated in ancient deposits of the Paraná River in more energetic flow conditions, displays area of ponds, with the presence of palaeochannels partially covered by deposits of alluvial fans. The Paraná River Unit forms the active floodplain of the Paraná River. The Guaira Unit is located on the left bank of the Paraná River and has the same texture, and toponymy subunit Paraná River Floodplain, but what differentiates them is the sedimentary material from rocks of the Serra Geral Formation. And finally, the Campo Mourão Plateau Unit, this unit presents characteristics similar to Porto Rico Unit, but develops over the rocks of the Serra Geral Formation. It is believed that this unit is the oldest of the mapped area... |
