Resumo: This research aims at verifying the influence of social media in the academic daily activities of Unioeste students, in its five campuses, and taking into account students who accessed the university by Vestibular, in order to register explanatory hypotheses regarding uses, effects and bonds provided by these tools. The methodology, materials and processes used during this study were cutouts based on the participants’ features from 2014, 2015 and 2016. Income factors, data collection regarding of social media use were clustered according to both studied processes, online form and foray on the students’ profiles and, finally, the use of students’ performance to measure the influence of such uses. Both approaches regarding the social media use were necessary due to the gaps and interpretative incongruities left among them. Thus, based on this context, among the hypotheses raised and tested in the research, the relationship among the lowest economic factor, the highest academic performance and the highest social media use were evidenced.
