Resumo: The present research aims to analyze the thermal performance of buildings and the degradation cycle of urea as a function of time and storage location. In order to observe this process of physico - chemical degradation, a 3x4 factorial arrangement was organized, where a total of four bags of 50 kg of urea were stored in four different ones, two buildings in wood and two in brick masonry during the three-month period, where changes in total nitrogen, density, moisture and granulometry were evaluated periodically each month. The observed results show that during the storage at the highest temperature, a loss of up to 13% of the nitrogen of the granules was recorded. A reduction in the density of the granules of up to 5.3% and also a reduction of the weight of the samples of up to 1.5% in relation to the initial weight was observed. The granulometry was strongly affected with a reduction of up to 8.1% of the granule percentages, a possible relationship between the decrease in density and the percentage of accumulated percentages in the sieves of the granulometric analysis was discussed. Another conclusion observed by the research is that the bioclimatic architecture can reduce up to 72% of the heat input in the buildings during the hours of the highest sun
