Resumo: | Objective: Understand the perspective of observation and understanding of the authors of intrafamily violence (AIV), in a border region, about this phenomenon and the reasons that led them to interpersonal violence in the family. Methodology: Qualitative study in the perspective of Alfred Schütz's Social Phenomenology, carried out through interviews with nine men that were AIV who participate in the BASTA Project at the Foz do Iguaçu-PR Municipal Patronage. To obtain the data, the interviewees answered a questionnaire composed of fifteen questions that guided the research on the topic. Results: From the participants' reports, three categories were obtained that refer to the “Reasons Why”. The first category brings knowledge about intrafamily violence. The second category deals with intersubjective relations, with the following subcategories: communication, affectivity, family interrelations. The third category presents care actions in the context of care services for authors of intrafamily violence. As for Reasons For, the expectatio3ns, the following categories were obtained: ‘redefinition and relearning of intrafamily violence’ and ‘importance of intervention actions with their authors’. Regarding the analysis of categories, for both reasons - For and Why - a specific constitution of the type of personality tending to intrafamily violence was defined. Discussion: The AIV interviewed in the present study considered that intrafamily violence occurs from external factors, such as lack of respect, jealousy and betrayal, financial inequality, alcoholism, drug addiction, as a torrent of negative feelings. The Maria da Penha Law was interpreted as one that protects women, disregarding the knowledge of the aggressor that leads to violence, such as witnessing violence at home, as a child, and being attacked by the partner. This social group, after participating in the BASTA Project, was able to reframe intrafamily violence through clarifications, attention received, feeling valued by the multiprofessional team. It is expected that there may be more insertion of the perpetrators of violence through resocialization projects as a strategy to face this phenomenon. Considerations: Research has shown that socioeducational measures make it possible for alternative penalties to contribute to the disruption of macho thoughts and attitudes for men inserted in the cycle of intrafamily violence. Thus, a fundamental aspect is prevention and, certainly, the elaboration and strengthening of Public Policies with a view to including AIV in socio-educational programs can be an effective way to build and change new signs, senses, meanings of a World of Life without intra-family violence. Education can be a transforming agent of the culture of violence towards a culture of peace and tolerance. |
