Resumo: This research aims to be a contribution for the studies about Brazilian contemporary music in a historical view perspective. Our overall objective is to, from the analysis of some aspects of the arrival of rock in Brazil, seeking to understand the strategies used by the “Revista do Radio” in spreading this musical phenomenon with his audience.The thematic in question is a study about Rock and Roll and its impact in Brazilian musical sitting in 1950´s and the beginning of 60´s. The national protagonist performance like Celly Campelo and Sérgio Murilo, as much as the pioneers of the generation establishes fundamentally a new music language and develops a young culture in Brazil. Trough the popular means of communication journalism as an example, we search to know rock roll origins, development and diffusion (expansion) in Brazil. It is about the receiving of this cultural phenomenon in 1950´s and 60´s in Brazil. We want to observe the evidences and creations signals of a cultural identity and this particular musical genre. Our objective of study is a Brazilian magazine called “Revista do Rádio”, this communication vehicle put in action the covering of the great events of rock and roll in that time. We intend that echoes of these research continue to resonate in debates in important ways, especially when questions are raised to ‘what counts’ as important about rock'n'roll in Brazil.
