Resumo: This study aims to analyze how the addiction resources and interpretative schemes of small entrepreneurs in the Rio slums pacified influence strategic responses of their businesses in the face of environmental pressures. The choice of the small enterprise in the Rio slums pacified came about due to them being more sensitive to the locus of control of the owner and also for being the most common structural configuration of the slum, being the same highlighted by presenting in recent years a new optics as a sense of security, an investment opportunity after the pacification. The study was conducted from interviews conducted with 132 small business owners in three pacified favelas in Rio de Janeiro. Our results indicate that those entrepreneurs who give greater emphasis to market pressures tend to greater compliance, while valuing the quality was not significant. The results also pointed out that the logic of market was sensitive to the effectiveness of the peacemaking process in the community. When secreting community analysis, it was possible to verify that each one presented a forming process itself, which has implications for the analysis of processes of institutionalization of institutional practices.
