Resumo: The century XX was characterized by rationalist attitudes on the part of the urban planners, contributing to the production of the urban space without many considerations on the social and cultural aspects of the man. The planning of the transports and mobility did not run away from the rationalist rule and throughout years of its application, since the creation of the models that relate transports and use of the ground, has understood the reality of the urban displacements under the vision of cause and effect. The theoretical approach of human geography from the studies of ambient perception search to launch a new light on the on questions to the psychological dimensions of the relations between the human behavior and the physical and/or natural environment, inserting there the question of the mobility, the wayfinding and the urban legibility. This work investigated the existing relations between the space representations of the city of Uberlândia-MG and the standards of mobility of its inhabitants. The work described the standards of the public image of there searched city and the space representations of the different groups of users of the public ways, and its relations with the legibility of the urban space and the standards of mobility defined by its modal one of displacement (walking, by bus and by car).
