Resumo: This work presents a contemporary study about the problematic of the regionalism as a concept in sight of Galileia(2008), romance wrote by Ronaldo Correia de Brito, the main object of this effort. The dissertation analyses critic texts of contemporary literature to identify, among them, witch criteria is use to accept or refute the term regionalism , to classify the romance. To observe if the romance corresponds to the regional value assigned to it nowadays (year 2011) and how it incorporates, in its own narrative, the discussion about regionalism concept, this work investigates the construction of paradigms applied to analyze the regionalist literature, shapedsince Brazilian Romantic Period. Were selected and scrutinized various texts from different contemporary critics that aimed his words at Galileia, carving arguments in presence or absence of regionalism. A diachronic perspective of these critic speeches was made focusing on how the concept was built and its meaning re-built since its origin, as an ideological part of the Romanticism project, to the regionalism of 1930. Then, the book was analyzed with particular eyes, which spot the narrative spaces and its relations with characters. This approach is also shared with literature critics and regionalism researchers. The work offers the possibility to reflect about Regionalism problematic and the way in witch configures in Galilea. Also helps to understand how the concepts of regionalism can affect the Brito s book.
