Resumo: | This research aims to understand the meanings that artists from the LGBTQIA+ community give to art and their productions. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were carried out with artists belonging to this community through digital platforms available to them and Discourse Analysis was used as a data analysis method. The following themes were highlighted: the discussion about the role and place of art in the social world and in subjective experience; the psychosocial context of theoretical, cultural and artistic discussion and production on sexualities; the relationship between artistic expression and the social and existential place of LGBTQIA+ experiences; the relationship between art, politics and subjectivity and the difficulties and prejudices experienced in the field of art. Thus, the research showed that for those interviewed, art has different meanings, which involve subjectivity, exploration of oneself, denunciation of reality, links with the field of politics, among others. |
