Resumo: | This work aims to examine the articulation of male and female workers who led the struggles for infrastructure and urban improvements within the neighborhood of Cidade Tiradentes, thus becoming central agents in the process of development of the territory. The large presence of migrants from all over the country, and more intensely those from the Northeast region, is understood here as a fundamental element for the analysis that we seek to undertake. Based mainly on the report of residents of the neighborhood, it is intended to understand the performance and experience of these subjects in the context of structural and functional weaknesses, when the foundation of housing complexes planned and built by the State. We also seek to discuss the relationships between an official memory and that cultivated inside the neighborhood, by individuals who experienced the transformations of space. Local newspapers, the so-called mainstream press and the documentary collections of neighborhood’s residents still constitute the documentary corpus of this research. |
