In the course of this work, we argue, from the relation history/theater, the creative process, the plot , the music, the characters and the theme of the theatrical text of Bumba, meu queixada (1979) of the group Teatro União e Olho Vivo. Besides the text, we reflect on the materiality of homonymous book of the play, published in 1980. We showed clearly in this publication an approach with the elements of literature hanging on a line, notedly on the cover, on the text´s layout in strophes and in the language. The criticisms of Bumba, meu queixada diffused in the newspapers and in the own book were concrete things of our studies. We also analyse the theatrical do of the group with the purpose to understand yours idea of popular theater and its esthetic and politic project during 1970s decade.
