Resumo: | Introduction: Since the first Brazilian association for the nurses, founded in 1926, several social movements of Brazilian Nursing were created to defend the educational interests of labor educational profession. The Brazilian Society of Nursing Management (SOBRAGEN), which was founded in 1996, has a great importance in the field of Nursing. Objective: Describe the story of how the SOBRAGEN was created. Method: Historical social research, oral history mode, whose time frame, understood the interval between 1996, creation date of SOBRAGEN, until the end of the mandate of the second director in 2003. The interviews were recorded, transcribed and converted into testimonies, with validation of the first procedures by respondents and the last by external evaluator. The interviews were coded and grouped by similarity and thematic relevance, categories were created, allowing the historical narration. Results: It was narrated the motivation and the process of creation, the desires and the values of its creators, the development of society, the performance of social actors involved, tangible achievements and the interfaces with other nursing societies. Conclusion: From the simple act of defense against the market requirements, the initiative of creation of SOBRAGEN affect many nurses involved with leadership and nursing management, advancing and give profundity to the knowledge and establishing a new identity for the nurse who was devoted primarily to the management process in nursing. |
