Resumo: Introduction: Patents for medical devices is a very promising area, in which Brazil takes slow steps, mainly due to the lack of information. Objective: to develop a tool of questions and answers about patents in medical devices. Method: The Design Thinking methodology, divided into four stages 1- Discover: a Desk research was performed in the following databases Scielo, Pubmed, LILACS, and in Google and Google Scholar search engines. Once elected the target audience, interviews were conducted; 2- Define: difficulties of the interviewees were mapped on Excel; 3- Develop: a brainstorm was done with the interviewed public, and 4- Deliver: prototyping, validation and elaboration of the final tool for delivery were done. Results: 1- Discover: Ten inventors were identified and interviewed; 2- Define: 80% of the interviewees indicated the lack of information as one of the issues. The main content was defined as: the patent process from idea to the deposit (70%), the search for precedence (40%), and communicating partners (30%); 3- Develop: with the brainstorming, the tool was defined as an interactive website; 4- Deliver: a prototype with content skeleton and interactive video was developed and presented for validation. After approval, the interactive website was developed. The interactive website was made available to the public by application. Conclusion: A questions and answers tool about patents for medical devices.
