Resumo: | This dissertation analyzes the representation of the Sindicato Rural de São Sepé (a municipal rural union), as representative of rural employers in the municipality of São Sepé, located in the central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul (Southern Brazil). We seek to identify the formation of the employers’ class through its practices and discourses, as we understand that it is a sector of society that influences the definitions of political and economic sociability. The analyzes were carried out through documentary research, interviews, observations, searches on institutional websites, websites of rural employers’ organizations and associations, electronic newspapers and digital social networks. We understand that the representation of interests of the Sindicato Rural de São Sepé is marked by the “union” of the group over time. This representation also involves participation in party politics, acting in the ranks of the municipal administration and the Federação da Agricultura do Rio Grande do Sul (state agriculture federation), and in the calendar of municipal festive events with the holding of fair exhibitions. |
