Resumo: | The use of smartphone is widely incorporated to the routine of the vas majority, but is being used in different ways by them, due to countless factors, according to each culture, social context, socioeconomic reality and gender. These mobile devices are the main access to internet, sometimes the only one, the lower the family income is. At the same time that Passo Fundo/RS sees the peripheral population mainly concentrated in occupations, increase, there is a lack of official data, in addition to academic research that is interested in these realities of social vulnerability. So, we sought to know how the practice of smartphones consumption happens among women who belong to the mother group of Passo Fundo’s CUFA (Central Única das Favelas – United Central of Favelas). Through ethnographic research supported by in-depth interviews, applied to the mothers who accepted to participate in the research, we reached the practices of consumption related to Social Relations, Motherhood and Family Control, Work, Entertainment and Limited Appropriation when the mothers do not have a smartphone, or when they are illiterate. The smartphones proved to be the main form of communication and fundamental to different daily aspects of these women´s lives, making it possible the contact, family organization, income and leisure, among others. |
