Resumo: The internalization of agrarian reform as a guideline of different social movements is considered a historical milestone in the process of transformation in the Brazilian agrarian environment. The composition of rural settlements integrates a series of socioeconomic transformations, which have consolidated the formation of these new rural production units, which reflect the struggle for democratization of access to land in recent decades. The results of policies aimed at expanding agrarian reform had repercussions on the maintenance and consolidation of rural settlements. When we make a historical overview about the first principles of the MST movement and its position in the last decade, it is evident the need to discuss the effectiveness of the current mechanisms of constitution of the rural settlements in the face of the contradictions. It is notorious that the question of settlements has different faces according to the experience of the farmer and the steps that follow each other in the daily life of his lot. Considering these discussions, this work aimed to understand the socio-spatial dynamics of the Che Guevara settlement, located in the municipality of Lagarto (SE). We focus our debate on the constitution and consolidation of areas of rural settlements of agrarian reform, under the influence of the production and reproduction of the space, as well as the daily life and living of settled families. For this approach, field research was used as the main way for data collection, which were analyzed from the perspective of the dialectical method as a constructor of an interpretation of the real that goes beyond a chaotic representation of the whole, typical of everyday experiences. There fore the dialectical method can help in this process. By means of a script of interviews and application of questionnaires and secondary data collection (IBGE, INCRA, among others), an attempt was made to analyze the social trajectory and the agrarian space dynamics of the producers that make up the settlement. There was a complexity in the settlement, and observing elements linked to the monetarization of the social life of this unit, which were hopelessly inserted in the capitalist structure, where self-consumption and commercialization integrate this dynamic. In this way, this work emphasizes the importance of knowing the process of struggle for the land of the settlement Che Guevara, materialized with the constitution, until its consolidation as organization, production and its reproduction in which we can certainly extract its peculiarities in terms of sociability.
