Modalidade EAD em Sergipe: desafios e perspectivas para uma formação superior em serviço social

Resumo: This dissertation had as object of study the teaching of Social Work in the mode EaD in the State of Sergipe. In order to meet the research objectives, an exploratory and descriptive study was defined as a methodological course with the purpose of providing an approximation with the theme and as a procedure, using bibliographical and documentary research as the main source of analysis. The bi bliographical research was based on the analysis of the counterreformation of the Brazilian State and its impacts on the expansion and commercialization of Higher Education, and on the graduation in the modality EaD in the courses of Social Service and its expansion in Sergipe. On the other hand, the documentary research had by sources the data and documents available on the websites of the institutions that offer the modality. For systematization, a datasheet was used to extract the information needed to r each the object. The publication of organizations such as the National Union of Teachers of Higher Education Institutions, the Brazilian Association of Teaching and Research in Social Work and the Federal Council of Social Service constituted a way to chec k the data obtained. In doing so, we have had the result that the EaD modality in Sergipe is consolidated, with a wide offer for the area of Social Work, at the same time that there is a marked reduction in the offer of the face to face modality. It is emphasized that, because it configures a space of confrontatio n by the entities of the category, there is a difficulty of access to information about the course. Of the 13 institutions that offer the EAD mode, four provide documents necessary for the analysis of the research object. It is concluded that one of the ch allenges posed is the appropriation of the pedagogical proposal and its relation with the curricular directives of the area. Regarding the perspectives, the EAD modality is considered a reality, which will require the entities of the Social Service area in Brazil to review strategies for their confrontation.
