Resumo: |
The present research is the continuation of previous works about the presence of transsexual women in Candomblé terreiros and seeks to develop research on the construction of the anthropological field of Afro-Brazilian studies. In this work, I seek to understand how this field of academic study was strongly articulated with traditional terreiro communities in the formulation of categories of analysis and perception that are still part of both worlds. Investigating the origins of candomblé nagô-ketu, highlighting the central role of women in articulating the formation of the first terreiros and how gender categories are built around this. I focused on the debate about sex, gender and sexuality from opposite perspectives and from interviews and presence in a candomblé terreiro in Aracaju, I carried out an analysis on how the transsexual presence modifies or not gender categories in the terreiro. Therefore, undertaking an investigation into the origin of gender categories in the terreiro and the current debate on gender and transsexuality in this space. |
