Resumo: |
The brazilian education, between the decades 1930 and 1940, experienced several transformations, for example the expansion of elementary school and secondary school, associated with the expansion of private schools. In this context, the Colégio do Salvador was founded, an elementary teaching institution administered by women, members of a catholic family originating from the city of Santo Amaro da Purificação, in Bahia, who developed educational processes based on their faith. This thesis aimed to analyse the process of foundation and operation of the first twenty-four years of the school, located in the city of Aracaju - Sergipe. The theoretical framework of the our research starts in 1935, when the Colégio do Salvador was founded, until 1959, when the institution started to offer the secondary education in its first class, like this, our study focused particular attention in the School Culture and School Material Culture. For this research were used: newspapers and magazines of that time; sources and archives of the school; interviews with former students, teachers and principals; photographs; record books among others, and also bibliographic research. As categories of analysis we prioritize: History (LE GOFF, 2003); Memory (LE GOFF, 2003; HALBWACHS, 2006; BOSI, 2013); School Culture (JULIA, 2001). We expect with this study contribute to the education history in Sergipe. |
