Resumo: The Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) and the National Socio-Educational Assistance System (Sinase) oppose a past of control and social exclusion of children and adolescents, signifying advances that materialized from the implementation of the Integral Protection Doctrine. Socio-educational measures are a facet of public policy, aimed at adolescents and young people between 12 and 18 years old who have committed an infraction and have been sanctioned by the specialized Justice System. Even with implementation in 2006, according to the 2023 Sinase survey, juvenile incarceration, which once reached the high number of 24,817, is currently approaching 11 thousand teenagers deprived of liberty which, in addition to revealing the implications of the model of centered society in the interests of capital, reveals reverberations in the surrounding social groups: teenagers and Socioeducation workers. Considering the relevance of professional activities and based on the historical-dialectic materialist method, this dissertation has as its research object the socio-educational measures of deprivation and restriction of freedom in Sergipe, with the main objective of analyzing socio-educational activities in the face of the binomial of educating and punishing, from the perspective of its operators. It consists of exploratory research with a quantitative and qualitative approach, based on bibliographical and documentary analysis and review and empirical research composed of professionals from the Renascer Foundation, the 17th Children and Youth Court and the State Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents. To collect data, we applied a semi-structured questionnaire, sent electronically, with approval from the Ethics Committee. As a result, the research revealed that although the socio-educational scenario weighs on the various aspects of the lives of those involved, there is a consensus that Sinase contains theoretical-methodological foundations that guide and hold responsible the teenager who committed the infraction, the family as legal guardian and the State and its absences, as a driver of this process. The intersectorality of the comprehensive care network and civil society are also recognized as essential in support and supervision, since after the adolescent is sentenced, he has the right to reconstruct his history with living in society. Regarding the result of the analysis related to the operators' perspective, we saw that the history of Sergipe's socio-education sometimes gets confused with approaches based on uncritical educational bases, without effectively associating them with youth protagonism or the construction of life projects, sometimes confuses it with the criminal treatment applied to adults, understanding that yes, it has a sanctioning function when it is operationalized.
