The following dissertation serves to profile a comparative study of the migratory processes of Latin-American countries of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and Republic of Salvador, specifically, the impacts on the families of origin where there is one or more migrants. The thesis consists of four chapters that seek to present the panorama of the profiles of the Guyanese and Salvadoran migrants, explain thoroughly the theories of international migration aspects or characteristics of the causes and consequences of migrations in the two countries selected for the study, highlighting the Guyanese diaspora and the Salvadoran migratory networks and finally close off with a comparison of aspects such as the trajectory of the migrants’ route, the social impacts and the cultural impacts of remittances within the households of families with emigrants, and finally the vulnerabilities of the feminization of the Salvadoran and Guyanese migrations to the different countries of transit and destination.
