Resumo: | Production of lignocellulosic ethanol is linked to yeast capable of fermenting the hemicellulosic of lignocellulosic biomass. However, there are few studies that describe about this activity, especially in isolates from intestinal tract of insect with fermentative capability and fermentative biomass production as carbon source. The yeasts utilized in this research were isolated from digestive tract of aquatic fragmenting insects, in Serra do Tepequém – RR. In total, 22 yeast were isolated and were tested regarding glucose, galactose, maltose and melibiose fermentation. There was fermentation by different strains in all sugars, expect xylose. The yeast were submitted to morphological, physiological and biochemical tests, aiming to its conventional identification. Six yeasts were molecularly identified, belonging to the genera: Cryptococcus, Aureobasidium, Tremella and Yamadazyma. The rest of the strains are still on identification process. Sex strains selected with fermenting potential were evaluated regarding ethanol production capability, using pineapple peel hydrolyzed as only carbon source, with ethanol production up to 53.4 g/L and yield up to 0.81 g/L. |
