Resumo: | This work, on the differences between female speech and male speech in the Mebêngôkre language, aims to analyze lexical divergences regarding the speaker's sex. To develop this research, we used a bibliographic and field study using the participatory observation technique. The field research had a qualitative approach based on interviews for each category of women and men in order to record the context in which this distinction occurs. The glossing method was adopted, based on syntactic and morphological criteria, assigning words to different classes, observing derivational and inflectional morphology for analysis of field research. It was found that the difference between female speech and male speech occurs, mainly through expressions and intonation, specific to the communication process. Therefore, it appears that in the Mebêngôkre language, men and women present lexical variation in their speech, in everyday expressions. |
