Validação clínica do diagnóstico de enfermagem ansiedade da hospitalização em crianças

Resumo: Introduction: Hospitalization Anxiety in children is a multidimensional phenomenon, characterized by biological and psychological aspects triggered by a stressful process of insertion in a hospital environment, which can affect the child development. Objective: To validate, clinically, with hospitalized children in a pediatric clinic, the nursing diagnosis of Hospitalization Anxiety in children. Methodological approach: Methodological research, developed in two stages: 1) Refinement of the nursing diagnosis Hospitalization Anxiety in children and Restructuring with the Theory of Unpleasant Symptoms, followed by the Structuring of the operational definitions of its essential characteristics and the Validation of content; 2) Clinical validation, using the Hoskins method, besides the content structuring and validation of the instrument used in the previous step. Data collection took place between August and December 2018 with children in the preschool and school age groups. Prior to its execution, the research project was submitted for approval and approved under protocol 2.320.617. Results: Refinement of Hospitalization Anxiety in Children, followed by Restructuring with the Theory of Unpleasant Symptoms, allowed relating the essential characteristics of this diagnosis with the elements that make up the Theory. It was possible to construct the operational definitions of the essential characteristics of Hospitalization Anxiety in children followed by the content validation process by specialists. Clinical Validation allowed validation of the attributes (Appetite, Dyspnea, Tachycardia and Increased state of Surveillance, Crying, Alteration of emotional state, Seizure, Decreased Concentration, Restlessness, Irritability, Fear, Anxiety, Nervousness, Concern, Insecurity and Tremor), which, in turn, enabled a new definition of the nursing diagnosis in question. Final Thoughts: The accomplishment of the study allowed the Clinical Validation of nursing diagnosis Hospitalization Anxiety in children, enabling empirical testing of the attributes of the diagnosis in order to link the knowledge previously identified in the theory with that experienced in practice.
