Resumo: The work seeks to identify how the theme of culture is studied in Brazil in Political Science and International Relations (PSIR). The objective is to identify the characteristics of online scientific articles produced in the theme, especially from a theoretical-conceptual and methodological point of view. It describes the academic production in the area from 1990 to 2017. Therefore, systematic literature review is carried out through the establishment of selection criteria and analysis, with a database of 183 articles and 25 journals. The research finds, among other factors, the concentration of more focused journals specifically in political science, indicating a difference with the study of International Relations. While most of the articles are of Qualis B2, the journals that concentrate more articles in the subject are of Qualis A1 and A2. Different concepts of culture are used. Regarding the methodology, it was observed that among the main methodological procedures used are: factorial analysis, survey, interview and questionnaire. However, most do not explicitly state how their research was performed, indicating no method. It becomes clear the need for greater interdisciplinarity in the subject, as well as conceptual and methodological reflection in the literature produced.
