Resumo: This research aims to develop a debate about the contribution of the Phaedo to the problem of knowledge in the Platonic epistemology. The dialogue of Phaedo is a well known and perhaps the most widely read, because its proposal concerns a spiritual side of human understanding in relation to the soul. The theme of the immortality of the soul is often touted as central in this dialogue. However, we are presenting in this research the importance of the issue of knowledge, also presented in the Phaedo, which seeks to answer the following question: how to know? To achieve the desired results for the research, we must redo the argumentative course in the work, which necessarily involves the reminiscence theory, the hypothesis of the forms and the theory of the participation. Therefore, the proposal that we intend to evaluate is a fundamental question to the way we understand the philosophy: it can be thought as a discussion of the learning. In other words, a discussion aimed at understanding the possibility of acquiring knowledge. If it is possible, how is it possible?
