Resumo: | The present paper seeks possible philosophical principles present in the artistic creation technique of painting with Light or Light painting (LP) discussing the constitution of the agent immersed in signs, which manipulates and creates codes, namely “the artist”. To do that I made use of some indications of Peircean’s semiotics in the construction of the primal self, of studies on the sacred by Rudolf Otto, introducing the concept of numen, and of the assumptions around imaginary and imaginal from Gilbert Durand and JeanJacques Wunenburger in an attempt to distinguish the reality where the creation of codes is revealed. Along the way, in a mix between general considerations and personal statements, I attempt to relate the extension of the limits of what is known through the development of optical technologies and its boundaries with mystical experience, where uncertainty is core in the foundation of the self. To close, I present you two visual proposals, which were developed in the course of this research. |
