From the perspective of material culture studies, acknowledging tradition as a support of memory, this work aims to identify the cultural references present in the material culture of the Indigenous Carnival Tribes. The present research devotes itself to studying the system of things of this cultural practice of significant material expression. The absence of any minimally systematized records of the objects produced by cultural groups required the production of documentation on the material culture of the eight active groups during Carnaval Tradição - the festivities of 2018. Based on the experiences of inventories, such as the methodology used in the National Inventory of Cultural References as well as the models of study and cataloging of objects and museum pieces, this work developed its own inventory model.
